5 DAYS FES SAHARA 4X4 DESERT TRIP

Day 1: Fes – Ifrane – Midelt – Erfoud – Merzouga Dunes
After breakfast, we will depart for Merzouga through the Middle Atlas region. We will drive through Ifrane, the Switzerland of Morocco and the cedar forests of Azrou where we can stop to hand feed the monkeys. We will continue to Midelt where we will have lunch. We will then follow the Ziz River through the valley and stop to see the Ziz Gorges on our way to Merzouga.

Day 2: Merzouga – Erg Chebbi
Today we will explore the desert region and the marvel that is the Erg Chebbi desert dunes. We will make a circuit of the desert dunes where you will have the opportunity to see the nomad’s way of life and the amazing changing contrasts of the desert. We will visit the “black village” of Khamlia to see the Gnawa musicians. We will have a traditional Berber pizza for lunch in the ancient capital of Rissani. In the afternoon, we will ride the camels to see the sunset over the dunes and spend the night in the desert camp. We will have a traditional tagine dinner, drink delicious mint tea, listen to traditional Berber music while watching the stars and the rising moon in the amazing Sahara desert.

Day 3: Erg Chebbi – Rissani – Todra Gorges
After having breakfast, camel trek back to the hotel at the dune line for a quick shower. We leave the Sahara desert dunes of Erg Chebbi, an off-road drive across the hamada (black Desert) to get to the Sahara town of Rissani, optional visit of the animated local market. Afterward, we head north to Erfoud that is known for the fossils, here we can stop to visit a fossil workshop before we continue to the impressive Todra canyons, known for rock climbing, where you can hike before we check into to the hotel, Dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Todra Gorges – Dades Valley – Skoura – Ouarzazate
Breakfast at the hotel, we begin our journey along the road of 1000 Thousand Kasbahs, since there are enormous kasbahs on both sides of the road. Some of those old fortified houses are restored but unfortunately a lot of them are ruins. We pass through Dades valley and go up to the mountainous area through an off-road trail where many Berber villages and few nomads living in caves, here we will have the chance to visit one of this families and take a look at their daily life and their main activity Looking after herds of goats sheep . We will be impressed by the landscapes of the colorful rose valley before we reach Skoura palm grove. 45km further, we reach Ouarzazate for the dinner and overnight at the hotel.

Day 5: Ouarzazate – Ait Benhaddou – High Atlas – Marrakech
After breakfast, we will visit Taourirt Kasbah before departing to Ait Benhaddou to visit the World Heritage Site. We will continue with a visit to the traditional High Atlas Berber village of Telouet and the Kasbah el Glaoui. We will have lunch in a local restaurant in Telouet before descending the Tizi-n-Tichka to Marrakech where tour ends.

4 DAYS FES MARRAKECH 4X4 DESERT TOUR

Day 01: Fez – Ifrane – Azrou – Ziz Valley – Erg Chebbi Merzouga:
Pick up at the hotel or Riad where you are staying at 8am and head south to cross the Middle Atlas Mountains to Ifrane, called ” the little Moroccan Switzerland ” for its great resemblance to that country. One of the animals that used to live here was the lion of the Atlas, so it has become a symbol of the city and dedicated a stone statue in the center of it. We will take some photos. We will cross the famous forests of cedars. We can admire the Gran Cedro Gouraud, the biggest cedar millenarian of the region and also to feed the hundreds of monkeys of Gibraltar that live in the zone. Lunch in Midélt and in the afternoon we will pass through the Valley of Ziz. More than 20km of palm grove and 10 million palm trees makes it one of the largest in the world. Arrival to Merzouga and hospitality tea at our hotel, then enjoy our first contact with the desert, climbing to the nearest dunes and relax with a spectacular sunset. Dinner and accommodation in hotel very close to the dunes of Erg Chebbi.

Day 02: Merzouga – Visiting the Nomads – Khamlia – Haimas Berbers:
Today will be a day of Total Desert. After a rich and rich breakfast, we will encircle the Erg Chebbi, an extension of sand desert where the Great Dune of Morocco is located, of more than 250 meters of altitude, and we will connect by track with part of the route followed by the old Paris-Dakar And with mountains bordering Algeria in the background. Stop in the oasis of Tissardmin where we can find race of Fossiles that still is in this region and we will follow towards a nomadic settlement where we will know some of the secrets of its life and customs. Later stop at a panoramic point where we can contemplate the Erg Chebbi as a whole. We will arrive at the village of Khamlia, originally from Mali, where we will relax with a tea while we enjoy a small concert of spiritual music of Gnawa. Return to the Hotel to go out in a caravan of dromedaries to enter the heart of the dunes and contemplate an unforgettable sunset. We will arrive with the dromedaries to the camp where we will stay in Haimas ” Shops made with dromedary hair ” as the nomads of the desert use. Dinner and overnight in Haimas in the heart of the desert under a spectacular blanket of stars.

Day 03: Merzouga – Rissani – Todra Gorges – Dades Gorges:
” Cite with the Dawn ” as they are in the desert it is advisable to get up early to walk to the highest dune that is around the camp to enjoy the sunrise and this relaxing landscape that nature offers us, we will return in Dromedaries to the town of Merzouga. After a rich breakfast, we have to say goodbye to the desert and we will leave for Rissani where we will visit its market (if we are lucky and it is one of the Market days: Tuesday, Thursday or Sunday) we will continue the road to Erfoud where there is also possibility to visit the Fossilized marble factory before continuing to the palm groves of Touroug and Tinjdad. 1 hour later we will arrive at one of the strongest points of the High Atlas: The Gorges of Todra. The channel of the river Todra has formed a gorge of vertical walls of enormous proportions and of great beauty; Is the climbers’ paradise and a unique place. Lunch on site and a half-hour walk would be advisable to see and enjoy the Gorges in detail. In the afternoon we will continue to the Valley of the Dadès, also known by the Valley of figs, passing through Boumalne Dadés we will stop in the “feet of monkey” Dinner and night in the Gorges of the Dades.

Day 04: The Dades Gorges – Valley of roses – Ouarzazate – Ait Ben Haddou – High Atlas – Marrakech:
After breakfast, we can enjoy one of the best views of the Dadés Valley. We will do it from one of the most strategic places that the mountains offer us. From there we can observe the amount of kasbah that there is and the picturesque of each one of them, then exit towards a road dotted with diverse Kasbah of great interest. After several stops to enjoy the route of the Thousand Kasbah, the Valley of the Roses and the great palm grove of Skoura, we will arrive in Ouarzazate and visit the kasbah of Taourirt, former residence of the Glaoui or Pasha of Marrakesh, Film Studios and Museum of Cinema if you are interested. We will also go to the fortified village of Ait Ben Haddou, where we will visit its famous Kasbah (declared World Heritage by UNESCO in 1986). In this spectacular frame have been filmed several famous films as Gladiator, Obelix, Sahara with Penélope Cruz… Lunch in the village and in the afternoon we will leave for Marrakech crossing the mountain port of Tizi Ntichka with stops to take photos. Here we will leave behind the lunar landscape that will give way to the predominant green colors, ocher … etc. Arrival in Marrakech about 18h or later, transfer to the hotel or airport and end of our services.

3 DAYS FES MERZOUGA DESERT TRIP

Day 1 : Fes – midelt – Atlas – Todra Gorges
In the morning, we will leave Fes to Todra Gorges, we will pass through Ifrane and the cedar forests of Azrou where the wild monkeys are located. It will be good opportunity to take photos of wildness nature in Morocco. We will stop at Zaida vallage for lunch before continuing our way through the Atlas Mountains enjoying the landscapes of Midelt before arriving at a small town of Rich. Here ,we turn right to pass through the famous town of Imilchil towards Toudra Gorges for dinner and night in a hotel ..

Day 2 : Todra Gorges – Merzouga – Camel ride -Night in desert
After breakfast, we will drive to Merzouga where the golden dunes are located by passing the Berber villages which are scattered along the way. We’ll pass through Tinjdad, Jorf and Erfoud where we’ll enjoy the beginning of the Saharian oasis of Tafilalet. And then continue to Merzouga, after check-in at your hotel in Merzouga we will go on camel trek in the dunes of erg Chebbi where is the greatest experience to ride a camel in the desert with its silence of the dunes. We will continue to the camp where we’ll leave the camels and we walk to a high dune to see the sunset and returning for dinner and night in the berber tent.

Day 3: Merzouga – Errachidia – Ziz Valley – Medilt – Fes
We will wake up early in the morning for the magical sunrise before we ride the camels back to Merzouga to have breakfast . We’ll start our tour on the way to back to Fes leaving the dunes behind. We will drive through the middle atlas mountains includes a visit to Ziz Valley, medilt , Azrou. We will arrive at Fes in the evening where we will take you back to your hotel .

5 DAYS MARRAKECH MOROCCO SAHARA DESERT TRIP

Day 1 : Marrakech – Telouet – Ouarzazate – Agdez:
Morning departure towards High Atlas Tizi-N-tichka Pass which stands at 2260m, via Kasbah of Glaoui in Telouet and crossing the old caravan route in Ounila Valley before arriving at Ait Benhaddou, an ancient fortified Kasbah under UNESCO World Heritage protection. We continue the road passing by the Anti-Atlas mountains and the Berber villages of Agdez on the edge of Draa Valley with its millions of palm trees, which is considered the largest one in Morocco. Dinner and night in a Hotel in Agdez.

Day 2 : Agdez – Draa Valley – Nkob – Tazarine – Alnif – M’harech gorges:
After breakfast, we drive through the Draa valley until we reach Tansikht, on the way to Alnif, where we’ll have lunch. We will pass the fabulous palm grove of Nkob with its amazing kasbahs. Afternoon we will drive to the deep south of Morocco towards M’harech canyons, where we will have dinner and night in a traditional Riad .

Day 3: M’harech – Ramlia – Ouzina – Taouz – Khamlia – Merzouga:
After breakfast we start our day through the sandy region of the Oued Ghris, passing the desert villages of Ramlia and Ouzina including lunch on the way. Continuing to Taouz to visit some beautiful petroglyphs and a visit of a unique Gnawa village called Khamlia just before reaching to Erg Chebbi where you will spend the night in the middle of the dunes. Dinner and over night stay in a bivouac with breakfast included.

Day 4 : Merzouga – Rissani – Erfoud – Tinjdad – Todra Gorges – Boumalne – Dades Valley:
We will wake up early in the morning for the magical sunrise, before returning on a camel trek to your vehicle. After breakfast in the bivouac , we will depart towards the amazing Tafilalet palm groves passing Rissani town (the ancient capital of the Alaouite sultans) to the town of Erfoud. We then continue west to Todra Gorges with its impressive canyons before returning to Tinghir where we will have lunch and continue to Boumalne Dades passing Tinjdad with its palm groves on the way to Dades valley for dinner and night in a hotel.

Day 5 : Dades Valley – Kalaat Mgouna – Skoura Palm groves – Col of Tizi-n-Tichka – Marrakech:
After breakfast, we will leave Dades valley passing Draa Valley with its Oasis via Kalaat Mgouna, and Skoura Palm groves crossing the Anti Atlas Mountains which stands at 1660m high. The afternoon includes a drive to Marrakech, passing the High Atlas and Tizi-N-Tichka Pass, for the night in your hotel or direct to the airport depending on your flight times..

PLAN OF TOUR

2 DAYS : MARRAKECH ZAGORA DESERT TRIP

DAY 1 : MARRAKECH – AIT BENHADDOU – OUARZAZATE – AGDZ – ZAGORA
We will pick you from your hotel. We will then drive and pass the High Atlas mountains. We drive across the ‘Col du Tichka’ which is the highest road pass in Morocco country. Then we will visit one of the highlights of our Marrakech tour – “old Kasbah of Ait Benhaddou”. Here we stay also for lunch in a traditional local restaurant. After that we drive towards Zagora desert passing the “Draa valley”. It is the longest valley in Morocco and it is very rich for dates. We pass through some nice Berber villages to reach Zagora, from where we prepare for camel ride into the desert camp. There we will enjoy dinner and we spend here a night in the desert camp in Sahara.


DAY 2 : ZAGORA DESERT – DRAA VALLEY – AGDZ – OUARZAZATE – MARRAKECH:

We will wake up earlier in the morning to go on camels to see our amazing sunrise, then we ride our camels back to Zagora. We prepare for departure to Ouarzazate via the magic Draa Valley and also Agdz. After lunch we pass Tizi n Tichka pass in the Atlas mountains and then we reach Marrakech in the afternoon. That will be end of our private Morocco Tour from Marrakech to desert in Zagora.
